Thomas Langley

Sr.ROSSVILLE Thomas A. Langley Sr., 84, crossed over to be with the Lord at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013.He was born and raised in Oakdale, Tenn., to the late J. Everett and Minnie Langley. He moved to Chattanooga to work for the Southern Railway for 30 years. During which time, he also served with the Marine Corps in the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart. He was involved with Child Evangelism and the Juvenile Detention Unit for many years back in the 1960s and 1970s. Later he and his wife ran South Gate Reality off of Battlefield Parkway. For the past 11 years he kept up the AARP Tax Aide site in Fort Oglethorpe. He was a member of Fort Oglethorpe United Methodist Church.He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie; sisters, Juanita Pierce and June Bowman.He is survived by his son, Tom Langley; sister, Artie Geeslin and his sweetheart, Betty Routt; and several nieces and nephews who loved him very much.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share condolences with the family and view the memorial tribute.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev.
