BRIDGEPORT William Allen Sands, 74, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Highlands Medical Center.William was the son of the late Robert Clyde and Birdie Aliene Petty Sands born June 12, 1938 in Pulaski, Tenn. He had worked as a machinist foreman at TVA Widows Creek Steamplant for 28 years. Mr. Sands served in the Tennessee National Guard nine years.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Heather Sands, Christopher Sands; and half-brother, Clyde Sands Jr.Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Faye Boatright Sands; sons, Robby (Pam) Sands, of Huntsville, Ala., Allen (Donna) Sands, of Stevenson, Ala.; grandchildren, Brad and Shellby Sands and Jason Gleaner.Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. CST today at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, Ala.The funeral service will be 2 p.m, CST Sunday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home chapel.Interment will be in Pisgah Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com,
