Grace Millard Lee, 91, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. She was born Aug. 13, 1921 in Daus, Tenn., the daughter of the late Lawrence and Addie Dodson Millard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Lee, Sr.; and a son, Charles A. "Butch" Lee, Jr.; She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Etter Millard, Pearl Hixson, Clara Hamrick and Hazel Wilson; and four brothers, L. C. Millard, Ras Millard, Hugh Millard and John Millard.Grace is survived by her sister, Betty Denton, of Hixson and brother Pat Millard and his wife Julia, of Dayton, Tenn.; as well as two sisters-in-law, Margaret Millard, of Dayton, Tenn., and Noleeka Millard, of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Jackie Lee and his wife Carolyn, of Flint, Mich., and several nieces and nephews.Mrs. Lee loved to travel, living in Greece for four years while her husband was stationed in the United States Navy. Later in life she enjoyed traveling throughout the western United States. She was an avid card player and was of the Methodist faith.While she lived most of her life in Memphis, Tenn., she had recently moved to Morning Pointe in Hixson to be closer to her family, and it was the beginning to feel like home.The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care and concern shown to Mrs. Lee during her recent hospitalization.The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. today, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with a celebration of Mrs. Lees life immediately following in the chapel, led by the Reverend Doctor Ed Parrish. A private burial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Lee can be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital at PO Box 1893, Memphis, Tennessee 38101-9950 or going to stjude.org; or to a charity of your choice.
