Leonard Massey

Leonard Daniel "Dan" Massey, Social justice activist and retired scientist, departed this world on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, after a short illness.He was 70 years old and is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Alison Gardner Massey; and their two children, Ross and Tiye.Born in Chattanooga and a MIT and Harvard alum, Dan worked for BBN and SAIC for many years.A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the Josephine Butler House, 2437 15th St. NW, Washington, DC.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Casa Ruby (http://casaruby.org/donate/) or to the newly established Dan Massey Transleadership Scholarship Fund (http://www.woodhullalliance.org/2013/sex-and-politics/dan-massey-transleadership-scholarship-fund/),or the charity of your choice.
