FLAT ROCK Lester Allen Lipsey, 58, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at his home.Lester was the son of the late Malcom Young and Helen Louise Holoman Lipsey born in Norfolk County, Va. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Mr. Lipsey had worked for Norfolk Railroad as a brakeman for 12 years and had also worked construction.Besides his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Larry Lipsey; and a stepdaughter, Melissa Ward.Survivors include his wife, Deborah Sue Gamble Watson; daughter, Jennifer (Robert) Hawkins, all of Flat Rock; stepmother, Isolde Lipsey; stepchildren, James Ward, Dawn (Terry) Faulkner; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Gail Tipton, Lorraine Hall, Teresa Brooks, Marie Gregory, Nita Michael, Leslie Brassfield, Linda Horkin, Mariah Tubb.The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. CST Friday, Feb. 22, at the Sulfur Springs Church in Flat Rock, Ala., officiated by Brother Roy Gamble and Brother Dan Carr.Interment will be in Smith Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. CST today, Feb. 21, at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, Ala.
