Dr. Marvin Luke Dobson, 80, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.Dr. Dobson began his ministry in Greeneville, Tenn. In 1965 he moved to Chattanooga and in 1969 founded East Ridge Bible Church. In 2000 he returned to Greeneville where he pastored Freedom Baptist Church until he retired in 2012. He loved preaching the Word of God, and he loved helping missionaries share the gospel around the world.He was predeceased by his wife, June; his parents, Ottis and Elizabeth Dobson and sister, Mary Don Dobson, of Greeneville.He is survived by his daughters, Donna Johnson, Beth (Rick) Robertson, Chattanooga and Marcia (Charles) Strong, Quakertown, Pa.; grandchildren, Rebecca and Melissa Johnson, April Stearman, Stephen and Jonathan Strong, Alyssa Korb, Michael and Tim Robertson and Jamie Belko; brother, Alex Dobson; and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be at Bennett Road Bible Baptist Church in Chattanooga, 4-8 p.m. today and 11-1 p.m. on Saturday.
