Albert Wolff

Albert Marvin Wolff, 87, a resident of Chattanooga since 1966, died on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 in a local hospital.Born in St. Louis, Mo., he graduated from Soldan High School, University City. He immediately enlisted in the Army ASTP program at Lawrence, Kan. When that program was discontinued he was called to active duty serving as a Rifleman Scout, in WWII in Europe. He was wounded in action in Germany. After VEDAY, he returned home for R and R, then he was shipped to the Philippines. After Japan surrendered he returned to the US, highly decorated, and received an Honorable Discharge.He graduated from the University of Missouri with honors and a B.S. degree in Business Administration. After 15 years with Renard Rug and Linoleum Co., in the credit field, he was hired by Coronet Carpets of Dalton Ga., in 1966 and became head of their credit dept. As the company expanded, he later became Vice President of Corporate Credit where he was instrumental in creating the North GA Floor Covering Credit Assoc., which later became the Atlanta Floor Covering Group. He also served as the President of the Roundtable Floor Covering Group. Both groups became national in scope.He was active at Mizpah Congregation serving on their board for over ten years as Chairman of Adult Education. He also served at one time on the Board of the Jewish Federation on their Finance Committee.He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Wolff; mother, Kitty Gentle Wolff; sister, Ruth Weinberg; brother, Harvey Wolff.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosemary Parker Wolff; daughters, Stephanie Scroggins, Barbara Lee Wolff, and son David Morris Wolff; grandchildren, Marquitta Scroggins and Albert Mack Scroggins, his wife Amber; as well as six great-granddaughters, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Visitation will be in the Sanctuary of Mizpah Congregation one hour prior to the funeral service. The funeral will be Noon on Thursday, Jan. 3, at Mizpah Congregation, 923 McCallie Ave. Entrance to parking lot is off Oak Street behind Mizpah Sanctuary.
