Alnita Carlisle

Alnita "Nana" Stephenson Carlisle, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012. She was 81 years old.Alnita was born in Lafayette, Ga., and was a graduate of Lafayette High School. She was a well known floral designer with over 45 years of designing and retired from Joys Florist. Alnita was a longtime member of Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle in Ringgold and a member of the Bible Learners Sunday School Class. She had been attending Delashmitt Road Baptist Church recently. Alnita was preceded in death by her son, Mickey Murray; twin sister, Juanita Bowman and her other sister, Edna Earl Williams; her parents, Earl and Irene Stephenson.Alnita is survived by her husband of 37 years, Marion O. Carlisle; daughters and sons-in-law, Belinda and Doug Price, Cindy and Bill Crowell and Renae and Tony Haney; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jan Worthington; step-children, Bobby Carlisle, Ricky Carlisle and Elaine and Richard Steeley; two step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 2, and Noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, at the North Chapel.Services for Alnita will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel with Reverend Jerry Atkins and Reverend Ronnie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
