Gussie Lee Manns, 91, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at a local healthcare facility.She was formerly employed at McCallie School Cafeteria, Notre Dame Cafeteria, Chambliss Childrens Home, Foster Grandparent Program and Avondale School. She was a faithful member of Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Head of Mother Board; in the Missionary Society and on the Hospitality Committee. Ms. Gussies hobbies included sewing and gardening.She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Manns; parents, John and Christine Bigoms; daughter, Jennifer Bailey; grandsons, Vincent Bailey and Michael Kennedy; great-grandson, Anthony Robinson Jr.Survivors include sons, Elroy and Robert (Linda) Bailey, of Chattanooga; daughter, Myrtice Johnson, of Nashville; 16 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Lawrence, Chattanooga; devoted great-granddaughter, Quinita Robinson, of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Moore officiating. Interment in National Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
