Jimmy Don Lankford, 70, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, from his earthly home.He was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman.Jim was born and raised in Fyffe, Ala.. He was an industrial mechanic at Central Soya and was a member of the Teamsters Local 515. In 1980 became a Realtor and in 1988 along with his wife purchased and formed the Lankford Group having two locations on Highway 58, one in Chattanooga and the other in Meigs County.He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Dollie Lankford; two brothers, Glenn Lankford and Lloyd Craig; one sister, Delores Dawson.He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Phyllis Clark Lankford; two daughters, Kimberly (Dale) Haverkampf and Julie Lankford; one brother, Doyle (Faye) Lankford; four sisters, Hazel White, Marie Young, Peggy Lankford and Charlotte Burton Matthews (Bobby); one sister-in-law, Jeanette Lankford; four grandchildren, Christofer (Candice) Butterfield, Colby (Camelia) Butterfield, Jessica and Annie Harvey; several nieces and nephews and host of friends.The family will receive friends today from 2-8 p.m. and on Monday from noon8 p.m. and on Tuesday up to the hour of service at the funeral home or you may visit the online guest book @ www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.comThe funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Randy Bell officiating.Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
