Lurlise Wilbur

Lurlise Wilbur, 79, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.She was a longtime member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church and a retiree of Olan Mills Studio.She was also a well known pianist, who used her calling by the Lord at Beulah Baptist, New Hope, Union Hill, Hamlett Chapel and Community Missionary Baptist. She was also a musician for the citys local gospel group, the Gospel Odium.She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Willie Lee Wilbur; son, Macio Wilbur; brother, J.B. Wilbur; and sister, Selena Gordon.She is survived by daughters, Zelinda (Felton) Davis and Veronica (the Rev. Ricky) Byrd; granddaughter, Deannie Blackmon; grandson, Dalen Byrd; great-grandsons, Troy and Quinton Elder; beloved sister, Eunice Wilbur; a host of nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 12, 2012 at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church.Interment in Highland Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 78 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
