Opal Mae

Opal Pressley, 86, of East Brainerd passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at her sons residence in East Ridge.She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga where she was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She retired from Rossville Yarns in 2000 with 27 years of service. After her retirement she worked for the Americas Thrift Store for six years. She enjoyed the outdoors especially working in her yard and gardening. Her passions in life were her family, church and cooking.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Pressley; daughter, Christine Campbell; daughter-in-law, Shirley Pressley; sisters, Ruby Bidwell and Lela Pressley; and brother, Charles Cranfield.Survivors include her son, David Pressley, of East Ridge; sisters, Betty Hubbard, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Wilma Pressley, of Rossville; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Marvin Fowler officiating.Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and from noon Monday until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
