Jason Messer

CLEVELAND Jason O'Neal Messer, 39, passed away at his home on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013. He was born on Dec. 21, 1973 a son of the late Terry Lee Messer and Jan O'Neal Riley. Jason was a lifelong resident of Cleveland and a graduate of Cleveland High School. He attended UTC for four years, studying biochemistry and biology. He was an employee of M&M Mars. Jason loved fishing, music, movies, kayaking, bicycling, and spending time with his Rottweiler, "Ada."In addition to his father, Jason is preceded in death by one grandfather, Hubert Messer. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Jan O'Neal Riley; grandparents Henry and Elizabeth O'Neal; grandmother Bobbie Messer; uncle Kyle O'Neal (Sandy); cousins Mitch and Meredith O'Neal; and several other extended family members and friends. Among these friends, he leaves behind a number of very special friends: Gary and Jodi Riggins, Zack and Loes Riggins, Joyce VanDeventer, Blake Morrow, and Mark Slaton. The family will hold a memorial service today at 2 p.m. at Echoes of Mercy Baptist Church located on Durkee Road in Cleveland, TN. Rev. Daniel White will be officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
