LAFAYETTE Effie Romans Waters, 87, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. She was born May 16, 1925. She was a member of Woodstation Baptist Church since 1974 and she enjoyed spending time with her family, her church family, gardening, puzzles and reading.She was preceded in death by her Spouses, John V. Romans and Gordon Waters; Son, Dennis Stanley Romans; Parents, Odie Lee and Della Sherrill; Siblings, Annie Maude, Jimmy, Clyde, Robert, William, infant Sibling, Violet Moser, and Addie Wilhelm.Survived by Children, John (Jayne) Romans, Anthony (Marie) Romans, Phil (Nellie) Romans, Sherry (Marty) Shrader; 2 brothers Henry Sherrill and Dewey Sherrill, both of Scottsboro, Ala.; nine Grandchildren; John Scott Romans, Lisa (Bill) Rector, Rebecca (Nathan) Vass, Ashley (Eiler) McCall, Matthew (Jennifer) Romans, Melinda Romans, Denise (Jerry) Conaway, Lindsey Shrader, and Jamison (Marla) Shrader; nine Great Grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 5- 9 p.m. today and Friday, Jan. 18, from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Woodstation Baptist Church with Pastor Damon Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Arnold Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons: John Scott Romans, Matthew Romans, Jamison Shrader, Bill Rector, Nathan Vass, Hayden Rector and Bailey Romans.
