Ralph Crumley

FORTOGLETHORPE Rev. Ralph Edward Crumley, Sr., 89, went to sleep peacefully at home and woke up in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. He was born on April 2, 1923. He had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of his life and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church. One of his greatest accomplishments was winning souls to the Lord. He was an Army Veteran of WW II where he was the recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Ribbon, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star the Bronze Star Medal and the Bronze Arrowhead. He was also an Atlanta Braves Baseball Fan, he had served for many years as an Evangelist and was involved with radio ministry. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Christine Crumley; son, Ron Crumley; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Crumley; mother-in-law, Anna Croft; 5 sisters and 1 brother.Survivors include his loving wife, Lula Croft Crumley and Feb. 6 would have made 70 wonderful years of marriage; daughter, Janice Crumbley; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and (Cherry) Crumley and Terry and (Janie) Crumley; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; great great grandson and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Harold Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
