Doris Power

Doris Power, 90, of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at her home. She was born Dec. 8, 1922 in Loudonville, Oh., and was the widow of Paul E. Power. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church and faithfully served her Lord and Savior teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir.She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Estelle Messner; her brothers and sisters and their spouses, Glenn and Thelma Messner, Charles and Rosella Messner, Lawrence and Mary Messner, John Messner; sister-in-law, Delee Messner; Harry and Fern (Messner) Conrad; Chuck and Ardella Miner; her niece: Rosemary Messner Lifer (Gene); her nephews: Richard Messner (Yvonne), Robert Messner (Nancy), and Max Messner; and grandson, Don-Paul Power.Doris is survived by her sons and their spouses, Tom Power (Sharon), Ron Power (Donna), and Terry Power (Liz); eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.Visitation is 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. conducted by her grandson, Rev. John E. Power. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery at a future date.Visit www.lanefh.com to share condolences.
