Joe Tatum

Jr.WILDWOOD Joe Lee Tatum Jr., 70, went to sleep Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 and is now resting until the soon return of Jesus.He served in the Marine Corps. He enjoyed reading and studying his Bible and over the years he taught a Sabbath School class, was Sabbath School Superintendent, assisted with Vacation Bible School, health fairs, and sermons. Music was an important part of his life and he and his wife sang at various nursing homes and churches for many, many years.He was multitalented and worked as a molder in a foundry, water and wastewater treatment plant operator, maintenance, materials management, purchasing agent, painter and cook.Model trains and airplanes, collecting vintage western videos, shortwave radio, exercise and rescuing cats and dogs were his hobbies. He especially liked running and jogging. He was kind and compassionate throughout his 17 year struggle with Parkinsons disease that was complicated by dementia for the last couple of years.He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Stella Tatum; sister, Barbara Tatum; grandparents, Henry and Melissa Dunlap, and Tom and Ruth Tatum.Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Linda Cole Tatum; and mother-in-law, Evelyn Cole.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. EST Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the Trenton Chapel.Visitation will be held 5-9 p.m. today; 2-3 p.m. Wednesday.Please leave your memories and prayers at www.moorefuneralhometrenton.com.Arrangements by Moore Funeral Home, Trenton.
