Lyla Jefferson

Lyla Jean Jefferson, 55, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at a local hospital.She was a digital artist at Olan Mills and a member of Resurrected Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Callie Mae Jefferson; and brother, Wesley Ward Jr.Survivors include her son, Mario (Justine) Jefferson; grandchildren, Amari and Laila Jefferson, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Eva Ivory, of Huntsville, Ala., Cynthia (Lonnie) Smith, Rhonda Johnson, both of Chattanooga, and Gladys Jefferson, of San Diego, Calif.; uncle, Joe (Brenda) Cuff, of Atlanta; special niece, Tamara Hines; nephews, William Johnson III and Corey Johnson, all of Chattanooga; two great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.The body will lie in state from 9-11 a.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home with funeral services immediately after at Resurrected Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with Pastor Eddie Jacks as the eulogist.Burial: Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
