KNOXVILLE Bertha Calhoun Brewer, 90, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Monday afternoon, July 8, 2013.Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Meigs Brewer Jr.; and her parents, L.B. and Iva Calhoun, of Bryson City, N.C.; and brothers, Wallace Calhoun and Gordon Ray Calhoun.She is survived by her daughters, Jan Asher, of Knoxville and Teresa Brewer (David Scarlett), of Nashville; granddaughters, Ashley Vann, of Clinton, Blakely Bills, Nicole Gore and husband, Randall, all of Knoxville; nine great-grandchildren, Britney Jones and husband, Aaron, Austin, Zachary and Natalie Vann, Bailey and Benjamin Bills, Ashtyn, Colby and Kennedy Gore; brother, Gay Calhoun, of Waynesville, N.C.; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.Bertha will be greatly missed by her loving family. She and her husband were founding members of Allemande Hall Square Dancing Club. They enjoyed traveling as much as they loved being at home. The Brewers were avid supporters of Bethel Bible Village, a childrens home.The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Rev.
