SCOTTSBORO Eva Ruth Stewart Matthews, 86, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Rose Wood Manor.Eva was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Eva Fern Hall Stewart born March 18, 1927, in South Pittsburg, Tenn. She was a Bridgeport High School graduate. She had worked over 30 years as a TVA Widows Creek Steam Plant Coal Records Clerk. Eva was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star in Bridgeport, Ala.Besides her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lynn Matthews; son James Edward Matthews; and stepgrandson, Jamie Clayton.Survivors include her brother William (Linda) Stewart, of Florence, Ala.; grandchildren: Mandy Matthews (Nigel) Hall and Robbie Matthews, all of Chattanooga; niece Cindy (Joel) Linam, of Florence and other relatives.Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Ala.The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. CDTSaturday, July 13, at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev.
