Tresia Peoples

Tresia Maxine Peoples, 79, a longtime resident of Harrison, joined her husband, Bobby, in Gloryland on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Lee and Essie Mae Hodo; sisters, Bertie Mae Booth and Lora "Biddy" Turner; brothers, Edgar, Junior, Levert, Toby, and Robert Hodo; two un-named Baby Boys; niece, Sheila Turner and nephews, Urias and Greg Hodo.She is survived by her daughter, Rennee (Ray) Brown, of Harrison; grandson, Raymond (Cindy) Brown; granddaughter, Christina Brown; great-grandson, Alex Brown; brothers, Stancel Hodo, of buhl, Ala., Arnold (Ann) Hodo, of Northport, Ala., and David Hodo, of Nashville, Tenn.; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.A native of Buhl, Ala., near Tuscaloosa, she followed Gods calling with her husband to move to Chattanooga where they expanded his evangelism service. She worked for 16 years at Modern Maid, several years at Hamilton County Nursing Home and 10 years at Erlanger Hospital from which she retired in 1991. Although a member of New Bethel Baptist Church for 30 + years, she traveled all over the country with Bobby to more church than you can shake a stick at. She enjoyed singing the gospel with Bobby and Renee, meeting Christian folks and seeing the beauty of Gods creation. She was also a member of Ooltewah Chapter #365, OES.The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the North Chapel. An OES Funeral Service will be led at 6:30 p.m. by Susan Felker, PGM of Tennessee.Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, at the funeral home with the Rev. James Hutchins officiating.Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
