Jerry Ward

Jerry Charles Ward, 71, of Chattanooga, left us quietly behind at his Red Bank Home, in the late evening of Tuesday, July 16, 2013, to return home to his Heavenly Father, family and friends.Jerry was a graduate of Red Bank High School then became a veteran of the United States Navy, and proudly served with the Seabees until his discharge in the year of 1966.Jerry was well known for his hard-work ethics and was employed with Chattanooga Glass Co. for 21 years, then traveled extensively throughout the world with Inex Systems for several years, then ended his strong work relationship with the Randall Payne Construction Co. in Chattanooga.He was preceded in his death by parents, Janie Bell and "Charlie" Ward, who also resided in Red Bank.He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Lillie Massengale Ward and stepson, Michael Massengale; sisters, Ramona and Ann Vandergriff; wife of 28 years, Evelyn Ward and mother of son, Randy Ward and daughter, Pamela Carlisle; grandchildren, Scotti Ward, Richard Kostuik II and and Ashley Carlisle; and several great-grandchildren along with many "adopted-children" including special ones like Garland Holcomb and Paul Winters.Jerrys final wish as he left this world, was for his family and friends to acknowledge him as the 'good man" he always strived to be.Jerry blessed us all greatly with his devoted heart and charismatic smile and will undoubtedly be remembered as a strong, proud and kind, gentle-hearted loving father, son and friend, with an open heart to all children, who quietly touched everyone with his compassionate heart, especially in times of need. We were all greatly blessed momentarily in this life, to have his presence in ours.We celebrate his lifes passing with visitation at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy between 11 to 8 p.m. today, July 19.Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Brother Mike Combs Sr. of Friendship Baptist Church officiating.Anyone wishing to attend should meet at the funeral home no later than 10:30 a.m.Condolences and memories can be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379.
