Bruce Coffman

Jerry Bruce Coffman, 73, of East Ridge, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013.Mr. Coffman was born and raised in Bridgeport, Ala. He attended South Seminole Baptist Church, was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from Quaker Oats Manufacturing in Chattanooga after 28 years of service.Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Elaine Coffman, of East Ridge; daughter, Michelle Coffman, of Alabama; stepchildren, Tim (Angi) Smith, of Kansas, Jamie Smith, of East Ridge and Kerri (Chris) Capehart, of Apison; grandchildren, Cody, Conner and Sophie; brother, John (Diane) Coffman, of Michigan; sister, Glenda (Paul) McCarver, of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Edna Coffman; five brothers; and one sister.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Mr. Dee Hobbs officiating and military honors by American Legion Post 95.Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association or American Cancer Society.Please share your condolences at www.chattanoogaeastchapel.com.
