James McDonough Evans, 49, formerly of Hixson, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in Atlanta.Jamey was born on March 6, 1964 in Chattanooga. He was a graduate of Hixson High School and received his bachelor of business administration degree from Georgia State University. He was of the Presbyterian faith.He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Earl Evans Sr.Jamey is survived by his loving mother, Faye McDonough Evans; siblings, Mary Anita Evans McMillan and husband James, of Ooltewah and Donald Earl Evans Jr. and wife, Holley, of Dallas, Texas; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces; and three close friends from Atlanta, David Ham, Paul Becker and Christopher Floyd.The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. EDT today at the North Chapel.Services for Jamey will follow at 3 p.m. EDT today at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robert Johnson officiating.Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. EDT today at Griffith Cemetery in Marion County.The family would like for you to make memorial contributions in Jameys name to the American Heart Association, 5959 Shallowford Road, Suite 221-2 in Chattanooga, TN 37421 or to a charity of your choice.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
