RINGGOLD Barbara Ann Blake Helmes, 73, passed away Saturday July 20, 2013.A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, she was a former employee of Queen Carpet and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Blake; mother, Thelma Dunn Brown; and three brothers, Harley Brown, Tommy Blake and Billy Joe Brown.She is survived by two sons, Stephen Helmes, of Fort Oglethorpe, and Donald (Debra) Helmes, of Palmetto, Fla.; sister, Marie Peters of Ringgold; three brothers, Charlie Brown, Calvin Brown and Gene Brown, all of Ringgold; close friends, Jeff Holcomb and Rick Holcomb, both of Ringgold, and Sam Holcomb, of Rossville; three grandchildren, Sandi Owensby (Eric), Olivia Helmes and Elisha Helmes; great-granddaughter, Marlee Owensby; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev.
