Ella Strickland

RISING FAWN Ella Mae Strickland, 91, went to rest with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 26, 2013.She was born Jan. 12, 1922 in LaFayette, Ga., to the late, Noah and Hancie Strickland and has lived in the North Georgia area for most of her life and was of the Baptist faith.Survivors include her children, Debra (Richard) Holland, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., Billy Mundy, of Rising Fawn, Ga., Edna Marcum and Betty Young, both of Augusta, Ga. and Jerry Mundy-Carter, of Memphis, Tenn.; granddaughters, Jennifer M. Magness, of Flintstone, Ga., Sara Y. Holland-Vela (Manuel), of Inman, S.C., Rebecca Mundy, of Phoenix, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Nadia and Benjamin Vela, of Inman, S.C.; and loving former husband, Eddie McCreary; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Pastor Chris Donovan officiating.Burial will follow in Lookout Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Church Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends after 2 p.m. today, all day Sunday and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes, Fort Oglethorpe.
