Cameron Brazzeal

YULEE, Fla. Cameron (Cam) Brazzeal, passed away at home on Saturday, July 20, 2013 after a courageous fight against MDS. Cam was born in Dalton, Ga., on July 13, 1973 to Rowland and Sherry (Laney) Brazzeal. He grew up in Dalton and then later Chattanooga. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, Tenn., in 1991 and went on to attend the University of Georgia, Valdosta State University and received his doctorate from Argosy University. He was a speech-language pathologist for the Camden County, GA school system for the past 15 years serving elementary aged kids. He was also working as an adjunct instructor at Florida State College of Jacksonville and a dissertation chair at Nova Southeastern University. Cam is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 10 years Ali (Roberts); young sons, Austin and Beau; parents, Rowland and Sherry; sister, Kimm (Mark) Rountree; in-laws, Andrew and Roselynn Roberts; brother-in-law, David Roberts (Amy); nieces, Maddie, Rori Rountree, Hannah Roberts; nephew, Ian Roberts; many other loving relatives, friends and co-workers. Cam was an avid fisherman, boater and a "diehard" Georgia football fan who never seemed to meet a stranger. He loved taking his boys to Disney, watching the Dawgs and vacationing anywhere with salt water; especially the Keys. Cam will be remembered for his kind and giving heart, his love of family and his fighting spirit (hunker down).The family wishes to thank the wonderfully talented and caring staff of Mayo Clinic/Hospital for the care Cam received. A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church (MUMC), 601 Centre Street, Fernandina Beach, FL. The service will be held in Maxwell Hall. Attire is beach casual with flip- flops encouraged! In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Cams memory to Community Hospice of NE Florida, The Gabriel House of Care or a memorial fund at MUMC that will be used for his sons education.
