Margaret Dyer

WHITWELL Margaret Rogers Dyer, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Valley View Assisted Living in Whitwell.She was a Whitwell native and attended Whitwell High School. After her marriage to Eugene Dyer, they lived for many years in Soddy-Daisy. Margaret, a devout Christian, was a member of Daytona Heights Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Dyer; her parents, Ray and Stella Mae Tate Rogers; a brother, Vernon Rogers; sisters, Dorothy Lovelady, Barbara Merciers and Ann Kilgore.She is survived by one sister, Frances (Fred) Barber; two brothers, James Tate Rogers, Billy Wayne (Gail) Rogers. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Gratitude is given to sisters-in-law Betty Rogers, who recently passed away, and Anna Rogers, who both demonstrated compassionate care to Margaret throughout her illness. Margarets family also wishes to express appreciation to the staff at Valley View Assisted Living and to the Amedisys Hospice nurses who gave her excellent care.Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. CDT today, July 31, 2013; 9 a.m.-11 a.m. CST Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. CDT Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 in the funeral home chapel.Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens on Highway 153 in Chattanooga.Share memories and photos at www.whitwellmemorialfuneralhome.com.Arrangements are announced by Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home, 423-658-7777.
