Lance Beckmann

MACON Lance D. Beckmann departed this world on Saturday afternoon, June 8, 2013, while hiking with his son, Ryan, in Vogel State Park in Blairsville, Ga.He was born Oct. 9, 1964, in Chattanooga, and grew up in West Palm Beach, Fla. Lance moved to Macon to attend Mercer University, where he met his wife, Lisa.Lance was a certified occupational therapy assistant. He loved camping and hiking with Ryan, and golfing with the "Senior Tour" on Sundays.He was predeceased by his father, Dr. George E. Beckmann.Lance is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lisa Neill Beckmann; his son, Ryan Beckmann; his mother, Barbara Beckmann; his sister, Elizabeth Beckmann (Ron) Crabtree; and his brother, Richard Beckmann. The family invites you to attend a memorial service in honor of Lance at Highland Hills Baptist Church in Macon, at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 8, Macon, Ga., 21 Huntington Place, Macon, GA 31210.
