Thomas Thrasher

Thomas Albert Thrasher, 89, of East Ridge, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in a local hospital.He was a member of East Ridge Baptist Church. Tom retired from Western Union Telegraph as manager of manufacturing after 30 years of service. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Normandy, France. He was a member of East Ridge Lodge #755 F&AM and Disabled American Veterans.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Doyle Thrasher and Dennis Thrasher; and a sister, Faye Tucker.Survivors include his wife, Wilma Thrasher; two daughters, Charlotte Thrasher Pickett and Nancy Elaine Rountree; three sisters, Thelma Allen, Dean Stowe and Desma Pike; two brothers, Edwin Thrasher and Kenneth Thrasher; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev.
