Michael Tarter

Michael David "Mike" Tarter, 55, of Hixson, passed away Tuesday June 11, 2013. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Marzella McAllister and his grandparents. He was a beloved son and brother and devoted uncle. Survivors are his father, Van Tarter, Jr.; step-mother, Jane Tarter; sisters, Rhonwynne Alonzi, Hazel Sanders, Connie Welch, Martha Waddell, Ruth Creekmore, Pam Dyer and Elaine Campbell; brother, Allen Tarter; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services are 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Reverend Kelly Selby officiating. Internment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Visitation is 1-9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until service time Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
