Clyde Hilling

Clyde Louis Hilling, 60, of Red Bank went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 13, 2013.Although Clyde had lived in the Chattanooga area for the last 25 years, he was born in Morgantown, W.Va., on Aug. 17, 1952 and remained a Mountaineer at heart. In his younger years, Clyde enjoyed playing baseball and boxing and eventually became a Golden Gloves boxer. Clyde was an accomplished journeyman mason for over 40 years and worked with several different companies in the area, including Adams Masonry. Clyde was an amazing father to Nikki, a loving Pop to Shannon, a proud Grandfather of Lexi, and a trusted friend to all. He was intelligent, funny, playful and had a heart of gold. Clyde never met a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off of his back. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Hilling Gorbey; and his sister, Becky Chance. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Nikki Lee and Justin Zimmerman; his beautiful granddaughter, Alexa Zimmerman; his sisters, Lori Gail (Paul) Fortney and Donna Rae Wright; brother-in-law, Calvin Chance, brother, Bobby Hilling; his companion, Debra Winnie and her daughter, Shannon Massengale; several nieces and nephews, many friends and a large extended family. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Go rest high on that mountain, Daddy, you are loved more than you could ever know.
