Melvin M. Butler, 67, died Friday, May 31, 2013, in San Francisco, Calif.Preceded in death by parents, Fannie A. and Robert L. Butler; siblings, William H. Butler, Fannie A. Smith, Annie P. Kane and Bobbie J. Whitfield.Survived by sisters, Lillian Butler Southall-Henderson, of Nashville, and Frances Butler Underwood, of Cleveland, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.Services will be held at noon on Friday in the chapel.Interment in National Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
