CL Michaels

C.L. Michaels, 90, of Lookout Valley, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013.He was a member of Valley Memorial Baptist Church, worked at Combustion Engineering 42 years, was a veteran of WWII, serving aboard the Destroyer, USS Melvin DD-680; was in several major battles including Okinawa, Iwo-Jima and Liberation of the Philippines. Mr. Michaels enjoyed camping, fishing, canning, and was known for his famous baked apple pies.He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Edith Lois Michaels; parents Arthur Columbus and Flora Michaels; five sisters and four brothers.Survivors include his daughter, Sherry Cavin; sons, Rick (Vickie) Michaels, Don L. (Nadine) Michaels; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends.The family extends their appreciation to special niece, Sharon Tinker, dear friends Lamar and Stella Beaird, brothers and sisters of his loving wife, Edith, for standing by him and showing him all their love; Hospice of Chattanooga for their wonderful care, special friends at Alexian Grove where he spent six years; all his church family, YMCA family, and VFW Post 4848.From your family: "Dad, you will be greatly missed and always be in our hearts. Funeral services was at 1 p.m. EDT Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
