Allen Dent

Sr.Richie Allen Dent Sr., 75, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Born Nov. 23, 1937 to the late Richie and Hazel Dent in Hixson, Allen graduated in 1955 from Hixson High School and from Tennessee Temple Bible School in 1974 and pastored several independent Baptist churches. Allen served his country in the U.S. Navy. He had a wonderful life and will enjoy eternal life because of Calvary and his trusting Jesus as his personal savior at the age of 13 and enjoying His presence now.Allens brother, Jonny Lee Dent, preceded him in death.Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Carlene Dent; daughter, Terrie Shepard (Stan); sons, Richie Allen (Tisha) Dent Jr., Jonathan Lee (Deser'e) Dent; sisters, Margaret Dodd (Charles), Faye Roach (Zane) and Ann Smith; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Phil Shellabarger officiating.Burial will follow at National Cemetery.Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or the American Red Cross at www.redcross.org.Condolences and memories may be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379.
