Allison Flint

,Allison Elaine Flint, 34, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013. She was the only child born to Wanda Smith Flint ONeal and Bennie M. Flint, on Dec. 1, 1978.She was baptized at an early age at Thompkin Chapel AME Zion Church. She later joined Olivet Baptist Church. After graduating from Chattanooga High School (Performing Arts) in the 1997, she received a B.S. degree in Communication Arts/Public Relations from Austin Peay State University and a master of business administration degree from University of Phoenix.Allison began her professional career with the Unum Group as a service associate and continued to advance in the organization. She was a member of the National Urban League Young Professionals. She was involved in the areas of community outreach, health and educational initiatives, and voter registration. She also volunteered with agencies and organizations such as The United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Riverbend Festival, and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. She was an active member of Chattanooga Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.She leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Wanda Smith ONeal; sister, Donna L. Harrison; brothers, Brandon (Kristen) Johnson, Jonathan and Jordan Flint, Nashville; aunts, Jacqueline (Ernest) Varner, Acworth, Ga., Belinda (Eugene) Toney; Angela Robinson and Benecia Earls; uncles, Rev. Alvin (Johnnie) Smith, Knoxville, James (Donna) Smith, JaMichael (Dalia) Smith, Murrieta, Calif., Anthony (Carole) Flint; godmother, Sarah Weaver; very supportive friends, Cynthia Lay, Carol Ann Weaver and Rosa Lee Paris; and many other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Olivet Baptist church with Pastor Kevin Adams Sr. as the eulogist.Burial: Lakewood Memory Gardens East.The Delta Sigma Theta Sororitys Omega Omega Ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. this evening, and the family will receive friends immediately following the ceremony from 6-8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the United Way of Chattanooga.
