WHITWELL James Howard Rogers, 89, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at Valley View Assisted Living after many years with Alzheimers disease.He served in the U.S. Army, 272nd Field Artillery Battalion during World War II. He was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church.He was preceded in death by wife of 64 years, Dorothy Hudson Rogers; parents, Henry and Minnie Sartain Rogers; sisters, Hulda Cox, Forestine "Peanut" Lyda; Willie "Dib" Davis; brothers, Jack, Charles, Robert and Homer Rogers.Survivors include his daughter, Christie (Wayne) Walker, Ooltewah; son, Ronnie (Deborah) Rogers, Soddy-Daisy; grandsons, Shane (Kristin) and Casey Curtis, Justin Walker; great-grandchildren, Trinity and Gaige; sister, Faye Gholston, Whitwell.The family would like to thank the many caregivers and nurses at Valley View Assisted Living in Whitwell, Also, the Amedisys nurses and caregivers to all who gave so much kindness, love and patience to our Dad during his stay.
