Martha Hampsher

Martha Leob Hampsher, 85, of Red Bank, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013.Martha was the daughter of the late George and Myra Leob, she was born on July, 7, 1927 in Corry, Pa. Martha had a degree in education from the University of Chattanooga and had attended Bob Jones Earlier. A teacher at Hixson Elementary for a number of years, she enjoyed music and piano and taught an adult ladies Sunday school class for a time. A member of Brainerd Baptist Church, she was the widow of Rev. Harry F. Hampsher Jr., who was their minister of music for 13 years. Martha was preceded in death by a son, David Hampsher.Martha and her late husband had served in the mission field in Lisbon, Portugal for 15 years prior to returning in 1993.Martha is survived by two daughters, Kay (Arch) Brown and Barbara (Larry) Coleman; three granddaughters, Abby Coleman, of Winston-Salem, N.C., Katy (Robert) Turnbull, of Raleigh, N.C. and Molly Coleman, of Atlanta.The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. today, June 26, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev.William Henry officiating.Interment will be private.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.ChattanoogaNorthChapel.com.Arrangements are by the Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory & Florist, North Chapel, Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
