Hurdist Nolen

ROSSVILLE Hurdist Lamar Nolen, 74, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at his residence.He was a son of the late Marvin and Joyce Baldwin Nolen and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving aboard USS Staten Island and USS Targeteer in Support of Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctic and served during the Gulf War.Mr. Nolen was retired from TVA after more than 30 years of service and was a member of Mission Glenn Baptist Church.Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Lois Motley Nolen; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Kristy Nolen, of Madisonville, Ky; daughter, Charese Veal, of Birchwood, Tenn.; grandchildren, Brandi Thomison, of Birchwood, Beck Nolen, Nick Calhoun and Hope Calhoun, all of Madisonville, Ky.; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Donald Evitt, of Nokomis, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ted Verville and the Rev.
