Virgia Cowley

RINGGOLD Virgia Cowley, 78, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at her residence.She had been a resident of Ringgold for 41 years, moving here from McCalla, Ala. Mrs. Cowley was a longtime member of Burning Bush Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and helping others.Mrs. Cowley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cowley in 1999; parents, Robert and Pauline Freeman; brother, Robert "Gene" Freeman; and sister, Annette Arnold.Survivors are her children, Gail (Richard) Collison, Edward (JuDee) Cowley, John (Lori) Cowley; grandchildren Amanda Collison (Joshua) German, Chris Cowley; great-grandchildren, Lucas German and Ella Marie German; sisters, Roberta (Tommy) Simonson, Mary Evelyn; sister-in-law, Roberta Cowley.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.A second visitation will be held in Hueytown, Ala., at Peoples Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1.Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Highland Memorial Park, Bessemer, Ala.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort with the family and view the memorial tribute.For memorials, the family suggests the Georgia Baptist Children's Home, P.O.
