James Rolen

Rev. Rev. James Earl Rolen, 86, Fourth Ave., Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013.He was born in Sweetwater, Tenn. and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, Rossville. Rev. Rolen pastored several small churches in Bradley, Walker and Grundy County. He is fondly remembered around the Fourth Avenue area as "Jim, the Snowball Man."He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lee Rolen and Rosie Morgan Rolen; and a brother, Arthur Lee Rolen.Survivors are his wife of 69 years, Hulda Mae Rolen; son, Dr. Jim (Loretta) Rolen; granddaughter, Kimberly Perry; two great-grandchildren, Tori Beth and Britton Perry.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ricky Gravelly officiating.
