Edna-Ruth MavityEdna-Ruth Mavity, 85, of Ringgold, Ga., died on Monday, March 4, 2013.She was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Catoosa County, Ga., to the late Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Massey. She lived in East Ridge for 38 years prior to moving to Ringgold.She was a 1945 graduate of Lakeview High School and retired from Mark J. Mayfield Law Firm in 1987.Mrs. Mavity was a former member of First Baptist Church of Rossville, Lakeview First Baptist Church, and South Seminole Baptist Church. She was a current member of Ridgedale Baptist Church, the Friendship Sunday School Class, and the Gospel Choir.She was also a member of the Women on Missions, the Widows Group, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, formerly Dorcas #228, in Chattanooga for over 50 years.She was the widow of Floyd Mavity Jr., and also was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Lisa Kay Mavity; sisters, Myrtle Brown and Aleen Standifer; brother Albert Massey; and great-grandson, Seth Roy.Survivors include her daughters, DeeAnn Burnette-Lundquist and her husband, Brad, of Chattanooga, Becky Branson and her husband, Ron, of Ozark, Mo.; sister, Ida Carroll, of Orlando, Fla.; sister-in-law, Ann Johnson, of Lakeview, Ga.; grandsons, Alan Roy, David Roy and his wife, Lanna, of Springfield, Mo.; and Ron Lundquist, active duty USAF; great-grandchildren, Gavin Roy, Brooklynn Roy and Peyton Roy, all of Springfield, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; bonus grandchildren; and bonus great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 8, at in the East Brainerd Chapel with the Rev. Tim Norton officiating.Burial will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
