Nona Rudd

Nona Ann Vandergriff Rudd, 65, of Evensville, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at her home.Nona was born to Jake Shelby and Dorothy Harrold. She married George Vandergriff. Nona was a homemaker, seamstress at J.W. Bray, Knitter at WillWear Hosiery and a clerk at Kays Castle. She was caring and giving and would feed anyone what she had. Nona was of the Baptist faith. She loved the Lord and everyone else. Nona would cook for others and family their favorite meal (cakes, cookies, pies or candy on birthdays, holidays or just because).Nona was preceded in death by her parents, Jake Shelby and Dorothy Harrold; George Vandergriff; grandparents; brother, Bill England; sister, Debbie Shelby; aunt, Sharron Ivey and Margie Patrick; niece, Annette Shadden; nephew, David Vandergriff.Nona is survived by her sons, Tim and Robert (Charlotte) Vandergriff; daughter, Glenda Sue (Steve) Coleman; daughter-in-law, Kay Vandergriff; grandchildren, Stephanie, Laura, Michaela, Bridgett and Bobby; Dallas; great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jonathan and Jensen; Jean (Roger) Flinn, Theresa Cox, Bill (Ann) Shelby, Oscar Shelby, Paul Shelby, Jackie Shelby.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today, March 8, and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.Funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chris Rutherford and Cleve Blizzard officiating.Entombment will follow to Hamilton Memorial Gardens.A special thanks to East Tennessee Hospice and Home Health.In lieu of flowers please make donations to Tim Vandergriff to help pay for expenses.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.ChattanoogaNorthChapel.com.Arrangements are by the Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory & Florist, North Chapel, Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
