Roberta Newell

Myra Roberta Sexton Newell, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. She was 85 years old.Roberta was born and raised in Somerset, Ky., and has been a resident of the Chattanooga area since 1951. She retired from BlueCross BlueShield. Roberta was a longtime member of The Gathering, formerly Memorial Baptist Church where she loved to be involved with the children. Her life revolved around her family and church.Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel I and Minnie Mae Sexton; siblings, Charles Allen Sexton and Stella Marie Holloway.She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Harold L. Newell; children, Leanne (Ken) Morrow and William "Billy" (Lisa) Newell; grandchildren, Amy Michelle (Jonathan) Prater, Beth Newell and Casey (Sydra) Newell; great-granddaughter, Charlee Cate Prater; siblings, Wanda Persell, Marjorie (Tom) Boone, James Herman (Barbara) Sexton, Pat (Fayrene) Sexton and Margaret (Dallas) Hafley; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at the North Chapel.Services for Roberta will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the North Chapel with Rev.
