Jim Hodges

James M. "Jim" Hodges of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013, after a long illness.He was preceded in death by his parents, the late James and Geneva Hodges. Born in Sevierville, Tenn., he grew up in Chattanooga and returned after 20 years in Memphis. He was a graduate of East Ridge High School, was a four sport letterman, and was honored to be all-city and all-state in football. He attended Memphis State University on a football scholarship, and graduated with a B.A. in Journalism and a M.B.A. in marketing. He had a successful career in sales, management, marketing and advertising.Jim is survived by his sister, Judy Winfey, of Harvey, La.; and his brother and his wife, John and Sherry Hodges, of Soddy-Daisy. He is uncle to a niece, Deborah Lynn Byrd and his nephew and godchild, Michael Stacy Hodges. He is survived by an aunt, uncle, several cousins and great-nephews and nieces.He was a member of East Ridge Baptist Church.Visitation will be held for family and friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home to be followed by a graveside service with the family at 2 p.m. in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell officiating.Share your memories online at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
