Dean Roensch

Dean Ray Roensch, 62, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 28, 2013.Mr. Roensch was born and raised in LaGrange, TX. He was of the Lutheran faith and enlisted in the US Navy in 1969. He did several tours in Europe and several tours of sea duty aboard ship before retiring in San Diego after 20 years of service. He and his wife have been residents of Chattanooga for the past eight years where Dean enjoyed hunting and fishing.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewald and Anita Roensch.Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Doris Roensch; daughter, Dawn Roensch-Gilbert and husband, Aaron; son, Daniel Roensch and wife, Shannon; grandchildren, Leaven Roensch, Miles Gilbert, Emma Roensch and Benjamin Roensch; brother, Elvas (Lorine) Roensch; sister, Evelyn Gersch; and several nieces and nephews.Graveside Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist. 404 South Moore Road.
