Johnny Mitchell, 67, of Chattanooga, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 25, 2013.He was born on Nov. 16, 1945 in Chattanooga, to John Mitchell, Sr. and Margaret Ruth DeVaughn Parker. Johnny "Mitch" Mitchell attended Howard High School class of 1966. After graduating, Johnny worked at Ross Meehan Foundry, Parkers Service Station (as a part-time mechanic), TVA, and Mueller Company for over 15 years until his retirement. He was a member of Tucker Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Alvin Parker.He leaves to cherish his memory: best friend, wife, and caregiver, Cheri L. Mitchell; son and caregiver, Jonathan C. Mitchell, of Chattanooga; stepson, Michael D. Clark, of Chattanooga; sons, Vincent Mitchell, Johnny Mitchell; daughter, Cathy (Kelvin) Griggs; grandson, Marques Griggs, all of Missouri; aunt, Marion Moon, of Chattanooga; five sisters, Elzenia Barnette, Ruth Stewart, Martha Brown, Brenda Mitchell, Sharon Mitchell; six brothers, Jack (Neda) Mitchell, Larry Mitchell, John Mitchell, Paul Fears, Carlton Fears, all of Chattanooga, Herbert (Amelia) Parker of Connecticut; a host of other relatives; and friends.The family would like to thank the following for excellent quality of care: P.A.C.E.
