ROCK SPRING Estelle "Granny" Cross Mashburn, 97, died Saturday, May 4, 2013.She is a member of the Peavine Baptist Church.Preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Luthur Mashburn, Sr.Survived by daughters, Marcia (Bobby) Kay, of Rock Spring, and Sissy (Tommy) Dobson, of Kimball, Tenn.; sons, James (Doris) Mashburn, Sr., of LaFayette, Alvin (Sherrie) Mashburn, Jr., Robert (Terri) Mashburn, all of Ringgold, Carl (Lynn) Mashburn, of Athens, Tenn.; sister, Corine Byrd, of Kensington, Ga.; brothers, Benny Cross, of Kensington, Ga., and Jim Cross, of Chickamauga, Ga.; sister-in-law, Alma Hoerner, of Rock Spring; grandchildren, Lisa Mashburn, Henry Mashburn, Trace Mashburn, Stacy Mashburn, Amy Parker, Abbygail Dobson, Josh Dobson, Lori Shaw, Lee Mashburn, Jason Mashburn, Tim Kay, Scott Kay, Brandon Mashburn, Nick Mashburn, Nicole Curtis, Millie Hicks, twenty-two great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive. Family would like to thank the caregivers that help take care of Granny during her time of sickness, and to the SolAmor Hospice Group of LaFayette.Funeral from the Wallis Memorial Chapel Monday, May 6, at 1 p.m. Service conducted by the Honorable Judge Gene Lowery.Pallbearers are grandsons.Interment in the Old Antioch Cemetery.Family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 3-7 p.m.The arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
