Marvin Silvey, 71, of Summit Community passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in a local healthcare facility.Upon graduating with his general diploma, Marvin attended Voorhees College where he learned the trade of Show Repairman. After trade school he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he was a Drill Sgt.Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Vera Silvey; parents Otto Silvey and Mary Lou Silvey; siblings Jospeh Silvey, Sarah Huddleston, Clarence Daniel Sr.Survivors include his daughter Sarah Whitfield and her husband Zacchaeus, of Columbia, MD.; niece Vonda Miles and her husband Cliff; nephews Clarence Daniel Jr. and his wife Yolanda and Sam Daniel all of Chattanooga.Funeral Services will be Noon Monday, May 6, at Fields Chapel AME Church with Pastor Aderon Billingsley officiating.
