Richard Haslerig

ROCK SPRING Richard Haslerig, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013. He was 82.He was a lifelong residence of Rock Spring, and a member of the Peavine Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was the owner of Haslerig Trucking, Inc.He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty Gordy Haslerig; parents, Roy and Jewel Coulter Haslerig.Survivors include his daughter, Ann (Russell) Turley; sons, Mike Haslerig, and Ronnie (Leisa) Haslerig; grandsons, David, Clint, and Justin Haslerig, all of Rock Spring; sister, Beth Abbott, of Lithonia; and brother-in-law, Tom (Charlene) Gordy, of Rock Spring; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Cozy Manor, and Solamor Hospice for the excellent care they provided.Funeral from the Wallis Memorial Chapel Friday at 1 p.m. Service conducted by the Rev. Nathan McCoy.Interment in the Peavine Cemetery.Family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m.The arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
